Knowlingly

Thomberg was the best of all the Seekers. He almost found a way to stop the Crusher from crushing people to death. The Crusher knowingly had a way of killing people. People would go into the Crusher at daytime, but if they couldn't get out, the Crusher would crush them to death using metal bars with jagged spikes. Benik said that someday, somehow, the crusher wouldn't close, and the jagged spikes would fall on all of us. That's why we tried to stop it and find a way out. To freedom. To the Sun. To victory. But as I said, it didn't turn out that way. Not at all as we planned. We had many deaths to come and cope with. It was not over once we were done.
